Before I get started with the interview i would like to thank A.L Jackson for taking the time out from writing to do this with me, she is a amazing author, one of my favorite authors and i'm so glad i know her.
Definitely the amount of time it takes me. I’m a very slow writer, which can get frustrating.
I usually take a break and read. There’s nothing like reading to fuel the imagination.
Do you read much or at all?
Yes, tons. I try to spend at least a couple hours reading before I go to bed each night.
I love romance, any romance, but lately I’ve been reading a lot of NA Romance. My faves are Molly McAdams and Colleen Hoover.
I only follow the reviews on my blog tours. I realize that not everyone is going to love my books, but negative reviews can definitely damage our creativity and cause us to question ourselves, so I try to be careful not to get into that.
Definitely to make sure you love writing and you’re doing it for the right reasons. Publishing is a difficult industry with a lot of ups and downs, but it is totally worth it if you love what you do.
Oh my goodness, so many. I love reading the stories of fellow indie authors and how they’ve made it.
Well let’s see…I’m married to my soul mate…still madly in love after almost twenty years. I have three amazing babies who aren’t quite babies anymore, but they’re my world.
AMAZING!!
I watched that video of you seeing your work on the shelf, i thought it was awesome to see how much it means to the authors of the books. we don't get to it see that much. Thank you for sharing that with us.
Oh that’s a tough one…both yes and no. When I wrote Pulled, my first book, I did it with no expectations. So there was a lot of freedom in that and it was new and exciting, and definitely is one of the best memories of my life. And I truly still love writing. I just have to look at it a bit differently since it’s now my job. It adds new stresses, but it’s still something I adore doing.
I usually write at my kitchen table. Weird, right? Especially when I have a separate office and a writing cove in my bedroom. But I find I stay the most alert when I’m out in the middle of things.
Oh goodness, I don’t even know. That sounds like a nightmare ;)
Mashed potatoes and gravy. YUUUUUUM!
Pen name
Usually to get me in the mood, but typically turn it off one I get absorbed in my characters.
Oh this is ongoing… I know everyone’s faces but can never remember their names.
Ahh well that would be on the way to a signing. We had to leave our hotel in the middle of the night and went to my car to head to the airport and had a guy who obviously didn’t have good intentions approach us. Let’s just say I’d never gotten my car in gear as fast as I did then.

About The Author
A.L. Jackson is the New York Times bestselling author of Take This Regret and Lost to You, as well as other contemporary romance titles, including Pulled and When We Collide.
She first found a love for writing during her days as a young mother and college student. She filled the journals she carried with short stories and poems used as an emotional outlet for the difficulties and joys she found in day-to-day life.
Years later, she shared a short story she’d been working on with her two closest friends and, with their encouragement, this story became her first full length novel. A.L. now spends her days writing in Southern Arizona where she lives with her husband and three children. Her favorite pastime is spending time with the ones she loves.
