Twenty-two years ago, I was cut from a cold, sodden womb, and cradled in the filth and poverty of Chicago’s concrete arms. Statistically, I wasn’t supposed to survive these streets past the age of eighteen.
Fate had a different plan.
I was bred for one purpose and one purpose only: to unleash death and destruction on my world.
My thoughts are power.
My words are weapons.
Evil created me then grace tried to save me. But first… they tried to kill me.
They call themselves the Se7en. They are sin and salvation, and everything we’ve feared from the beginning of time. And their leader is the deadliest of them all.
He doesn’t lose.
He doesn’t compromise.
And most importantly, he doesn’t distract himself with mortal weakness.
Not until me.
Kill one to save a million.
That’s what he told me when he took me as his prisoner.
Kill one to save a million.
That’s what he’s been trying to tell himself ever since he took me into his arms.
About The Author
S.L. Jennings is a proud military wife to her high school sweetheart, a mom of 3 rowdy boys, and a New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author of contemporary and paranormal romance. When she’s not obsessing over book boyfriends, you can find her hanging out with a few epic fictional loves at independent bookstores, or sipping a Bloody Mary at her favorite brunch haunt in Spokane, Washington. She’s a self-proclaimed food snob, makeup junkie and lover of all things shiny, sparkly and kitschy.
I have liked S.L Jennings books from the first time I read one of her books, she knows how to get your attention and keep it there in the world she has written. She has so much talent in getting you to connect to the characters.
The characters themselves are so well explained that if you closed your eyes you could picture them standing in front of you, and feel them breathing on your neck in some cases. With Born Sinners she allows you to get to know them just a bit ready for the next book to follow.
I have a soft spot for reading Paranormal Romance Novels ever since I was young, I have a list in my head of top Ten Paranormal Romance Novels and Authors Born Sinners is differently in the Top Ten. I really hope the series continues to be just as good as Born Sinner.
I loved how she connected her to series together, The people that have also read The Darklight Series would how picked that up with the King and Queen out of that Series and it fits in perfectly with each other without missing a beat.
To be honest, I don't think I can pick anything out to dislike, it ticks all the right boxes for me but saying that someone else may see it different to me and pick something out each as you all know that is awesome to have your own views.
Well, that's it from me for now hope you also enjoy reading this book or any of S.L.Jennings books.
This Book's Rating
I have given this book a 4 rating because I think it has ticked a lot of things in my list that I want to see in a Paranormal story and it makes me want to continue to the next book in this series.
Moana Hope is one of fourteen children. No fan of dolls or dresses, footy has always been her passion, and she would spend hours playing kick-to-kick with her dad and brothers at the local park. When her father was diagnosed with terminal cancer, Moana cared for him until his death four years later.
Footy and cricket provided an escape from the demands of domestic life, and she made state and national teams for both sports. She also began to explore her Maori heritage, getting tattoos that represented the dearest people in her life.
But as women's football became more popular, being good at the game wasn't enough—players started being pressured about the way they looked. Moana refused to grow her hair or cover her tatts, and for the first time in her life felt sidelined by the game. But later, inspired by a women's exhibition game, she realised what she was missing and returned with gusto to the game she loved.
As a powerful full-forward who can thrill crowds by taking big marks and kicking spectacular goals, Moana was signed by Collingwood as one of its two marquee players for the inaugural AFL Women's competition in 2017.
A high-flying athlete who is grounded by remarkable selflessness, Moana Hope is an inspiration for women and girls everywhere.
My Way is her story.
About Author
Moana Hope is one of two marquee Collingwood players for the inaugural 2017 AFL women's league. She played cricket and football at both state and national levels before choosing to concentrate on football. Moana is the only VFL player to kick 100 goals in one season.
As an Australian girl how grow up watching brothers playing footy every weekend and then coming home to watch it on TV and always wanting to be out playing with them. I was so happy to see there was going to be a Woman AFL Comp at the highest level.
To be approved to get to read and review this awesome story of Moana Hope it made my day, There is a lot of things happen behind the sense that us normal folk don't get to see and we only see what happens on the field.
I still can't believe how stupid some of us humans are with the 'judge a book by its cover' when you really should get to know the person before you have an input.
To me, Moana is one of the strongest women I know and doing something she has always loved to do and she should be proud. Thank you Moana.

A modern play on the Cinderella story arc, Christina June’s IT STARTED WITH GOODBYE will appeal to fans of Sarah Dessen, Stephanie Perkins, and Jennifer E. Smith.
The way the book started it was a little bit slow and I wasn't going to keep reading but after the first chapter it kick up a gear and then I couldn't put it down.
I don't know why I have a soft spot for Teen romances but I do this story was well written and stuck to the main characters point of view which I am so glad it wasn't changing from one character to another, as a lot of teen romance books are.
Tatum went to an art showcase at Tilly's school, the school Tatum should have got into two years prior but didn't. She had no choose to go as something she was involved in with Ash and her boyfriend went wrong and made the law come into it.
But instead of sooking at home Tatum made the most of it and used her gift with Art design to start an Art design business and to made some swag so she could drop some off at the showcase, two birds one stone. That is where Tatum and SK met with SK needing Tatum's help to make a profile for him. That is where I am going to leave it, this book is really good and you should have read you won't regret it.

About The Author
Erica Ridley is a USA Today and New York Times best-selling author of historical romance novels.
In the new Rogues to Riches historical romance series, Cinderella stories aren’t just for princesses… Sigh-worthy Regency rogues sweep strong-willed young ladies into whirlwind rags-to-riches romance with rollicking adventure.
The popular Dukes of War series features roguish peers and dashing war heroes who return from battle only to be thrust into the splendor and madness of Regency England.
When not reading or writing romances, Erica can be found riding camels in Africa, zip-lining through rainforests in Costa Rica, or getting hopelessly lost in the middle of Budapest.
I know that every time I get to read one of Erica's books that I know that I am in for a ride, I have loved reading all of them and this has been added to that list. I have a soft spot for Historical Romances and would read them in one day if I could.
I could not put the book down I had to finish it before I could sleep, I loved both main Rebecca and Daniel. I don't want to give to much away so all I'm going to say is that if you like a good Historical Romance then this is a book you need to grab.

What I Think
I know I'm a bit rusty at this reviewing as I have had time away from it but please stick with me as I will getting better the more I write. so feedback about Winter's Kiss by Darlene Fredette.
I was looking in my Netgallery and can across this book the cover caught my eye straight away it was just a sweet looking cover.
You know how every now and then you come around a book that takes you by surprise, this is one of them for sure, it came across as a real life story and not made up like it can happen to anyone and it could not like some books, it was that well written.
Darlene puts in the front seat of not only Danielle's but Andrews mind and I love that about love stories you get to feel what both are feeling and not just one-sided.
I will recommend Winter's Kiss to anyone that wants to read an amazing Romance Story
Daemon Ros has been an outcast since the day he was born. His parents’ lavish but emotionally-vacant lifestyle prompted him to assert his financial independence at a young age. His ailing brother is the only connection he allows to penetrate the vault he has built around his heart, until a devoted mom and her precocious son introduce him to the true meaning of family bonds.
But a chance legal encounter where Megan acts as mediator in a Ros family business dispute leads to far more than either expected. When a shocking truth leads to a love affair between Megan and Daemon that is forbidden in every conceivable way, the barely-restrained chemistry that scorches between them threatens an injunction on everything and everyone they hold dear. As pasts cross, memories threaten, and lies surface in a trial far more deadly than anything inside a courtroom, an arbitration of the heart could prove the only way for them both to make it out alive.

Excerpt
I knock on the door before I enter. A bareback Daemon is on the phone. When he sees me, he reaches his hand out to me and pulls me onto his lap.
He’s speaking German, so I can’t understand a word of what he says. The flat screen TV on the wall ahead of him is on and it appears to be on the local news. If I’m going to frequent this place, I suppose I should learn at least one of the many languages spoken here at some point.
As he talks on the phone, with his open palm, he lightly caresses my breast. I welcome his touch and gaze into his eyes as I reach between his thighs and start a gentle stroke, running my fingertips over his crotch. He’s wearing only sweats. He smiles at me, still talking, but when I start kissing his neck, he slithers his hand between my thighs and through the lace of my panties, he glides his thumb over my clit.
My breaths become long, and when he pulls my crotch to the side and sinks his fingers inside me, I can’t resist. I trail my kisses from his neck and capture his lips. He responds, kissing me through his words. He turns away, quickly says something and drops the phone to the floor before he slides his hand along my jaw and devours my lips.
I turn my body to face him directly, spanning his thighs while still sitting in his chair. He cups my face and brings my lips to join his. While our tongues are in a voracious exchange, he bores his fingers into my ass and presses my body onto his steely erection.
“Wait, wait. Mrs. Hector.” “We have complete privacy. She won’t interrupt,” he says, recapturing my lips. While we kiss, I sway my core over his firm arousal and my thighs become increasingly wet from the liquid that escapes me. I reach between his sweats and underwear, pulling his length above the waistline of his pants and begin a slow but ever- increasing caress of his protrusive endowment.
I miss him, in every way that matters. With the distance between us over the last few weeks, I feel compelled to show him how much. I want to please him and express to him in any and every way imaginable how much he means to me—how much I love him.
As I continue to stroke him, he gently moves my hand to the side, then he holds onto the crotch of my panties and with one violent tug, I hear the fabric tearing away from my body. He grabs the hem of his T-shirt and raises it over my head.
I am now free. There is nothing left between us but a few locks of my hair. He guides my hips over his shaft and we both watch as my saturated lips glide over his full length.
His breaths become labored and long; his grip on me tightens as I move over him. He folds me in his arms and as we ardently kiss, I feel his erection pressing hard against my clit.
Slowly, I pull away, and when my feet hit the floor, I begin to rise. Daemon tries to follow, but with my index finger, I push him back into his seat. I grab the waistline of both his pants and underwear. He raises his hips as I pull them away from his body and drop them in a pile between his legs.
He smiles at me as he watches my every move. I kiss his lips then his neck. I ensure my nipples graze down his muscular, trimmed stomach as I work my way down, stopping to kiss his belly button and the scar on his stomach.
He sensually roams his palms all over my body. Leaning forward, he buries his fingers into the flesh of my ass. It’s a pleasure to see him groomed and in all his glory up close. I kneel between his thighs, push his legs wide apart, and tenderly kiss his scrotum. I run my tongue from his base up to his crown and gently stroke him repeatedly. I circle my tongue around his head, and he lets out a pleasurable sigh as I concentrate on the back side of his tip.
I circle his thickness in my palm and continue to lick and suck him. I tighten my hand around his shaft, moving up and down his full length. When I surround him and take his entire length down my throat, he lets out a gratifying gasp as I repeatedly move in and out of him.
He sinks all his fingers into my hair, moving his hips into me. I continuously suck and swallow him. “Yes, Megan, fuck yes,” he mumbles repeatedly as I take him between my lips. “You’re in-fucking-credible.” He says as I suck him hard while gazing intently at him.
He leans over, clasping my head between his palms, urging me to my feet. He holds my hand, leading the way to the oversized leather chair and ottoman in the corner of the room then directs me to sit.
He places each of my thighs over the arms of the chair and sits on the ottoman. I am so eager. I know what’s coming. I inch my hips forward, awaiting his tongue and lips.
He kisses me then buries his head between my breasts and circles my nipples between his lips. He runs his tongue down to my belly button and kisses me gently while fondling between my thighs. He inches closer to my center and runs his tongue around me, before he softly kisses my clit.
What initially starts as a gentle assault grows into a violent and hungry onslaught over and around my center. He slips two fingers inside me, moving them in and out as he laps my oversized clit. I move in synchronicity with his tongue and lips. As he gets me ever so closer to my release a burst of pleasure exits my lips.
He pulls away and sits on the ottoman. I rise to my feet and lower my body over his monumental erection. He holds my hips, guiding me as I insistently move my ass. He then circles one arm around me and buries his other palm in my hair. He gazes at me for a moment. His stare feels so loaded, penetrating. He leans his forehead against mine then softly kisses me.
We tighten our hold as we move together as one. Soon, he folds me in his arms. We make our way down to the rug. He pins my body in place, pummeling his sweet parts inside me. As the pleasure mounts, his groans tighten and his breaths vigorously increase. I forcefully work my clit. As I rise to a crescendo, his labored breaths join mine. I come to an explosive release. Seconds later, he shouts my name then kisses my lips as he spasms into release.
He gradually stops moving inside me, but still he gazes into my eyes.
Rebecca Rohman is a wife and designer currently living in the northeastern United States. She was a sales manager for a tourist magazine, and for many years prior, she was involved in marketing for a jewelry company and fine wine distributor.
About fifteen years ago, she started writing her first romance novel purely to entertain herself. In early 2012, she decided to complete and release it. Since then, she has released three additional novels. A Problematic Love is her fourth release.
Once again I am honored to be able to read and review yet another amazing book by Rebecca and hope that she continues to let me do it with any of her work in the future.
I don't know how she does it but every book including this one it has grabbed me and hasn't let me go until the very last word. I have laughed and cried like a baby more then once and the craziest bit is that i have sat in my room and started talking back to the book I never do that with most books, but with Rebecca's i have done it with all of them.
Megan has been an amazing mother to Zach and doesn't let herself do much then working and being there for him, until she meets Daemon. Her first meeting with Deamon she fainted because she was looking at a dead person well so she thought.
I have to give this amazing book my top marks of 5 readers i loved every word that was on the pages and i cant wait for the next amazing book from Rebecca Rohman, i am also putting this on to my must reads for 2016.
In A Shade Of Blood, Bella Forrest transports you deeper into a unique, enthralling and beautifully sensitive story. Prepare to be lost in its pages…
When Sofia Claremont was kidnapped to a sunless island, uncharted by any map and ruled by the most powerful vampire coven on the planet, she believed she’d forever be a captive of its dark ruler, Derek Novak.
Now, after months of surviving an endless night, the morning sun may soon rise again for Sofia. Something has possessed Derek’s heart and he offers her a gift no human slave has ever been given in the history of his cursed island: escape.
High school, prom and a chance to move on with her life now await her.
But will she be able to forget the horrors that steal her sleep away at night? … and the feelings that haunt her for that tormented prince of darkness?
What I Think
Well this book is action packed with so many things happening, you jump from on the island with Derek with his point of view and then you have Sofia's as well as Ben's point of view back on the mainland, then you also have Lucas in the mix in this book. I'm still loving the story line but i think if there is anymore people's point of view then it will be to much to follow for me anyway. the story is moving on very nicely and it is still a page turner.
Derek is having a rough time on the island without Sofia and some of the other vampires think he has lost it as he is getting everyone trained ready for batter, but its not silly as it sounds, After Derek found out the Lucas was the one who attacked Sofia he wants to punish him but of course Lucas runs and leaves the island but not before dragging vampires down with him.
Sofia isn't having a great time herself with nightmares every night with little messages she doesn't understand but she has this one message over and over again. Sofia sometimes put Derek in a bad position in front of the vampires and expects him to stand by him, sometime soon i think she is going to push to far.
Ben well i really don't like him i don't know why. it might be because he is cocky, thinks he is almighty that every girl wants him and thinks they are going to drop to his feet. once he got back to the mainland he was all about Sofia he wanted her to be his girlfriend, he was not happy that she had fallen for Derek, in his eyes she was his and no ones else.
I recommend this book to all my followers that loved the twilight series, you would enjoy this series just as much if not more. I'am giving this book a 5 reader rating and putting it on my must reads for 2016.
Honestly, I rarely write reviews unless the book I read was either blown out of the water it was so good or it was just so awful I couldn't finish it. This book did more than blow it out of the water. I find it redundant to review every book in the series but I find myself reviewing everyone from A Shade Of Vampire.
There were two major plot twists that left me wide eyed and re-reading several times to let it sink in. WOW. Just WOW. This book was fantastic. I think it even out did the first book, I couldn't wait to read the third book and now that I finished the third book, I am absolutely itching to read the last.... even though this is a series I DON'T want to end!
This book surpasses Twilight fifteen hundred times over. How this series has not gone main stream is honestly beyond me!
(Chances are, if this author has another series, I'd read it because I absolutely LOVE her style!)
a must read!!!!!....another great book in the series.
We are all burdened by choices. Sophia helps Derek to see that he has goodness in him and to not tap into the darkness which is so easy to do.
Love always finds a way to beat the odds....... it may not always be an easy victory but it is always worth the fight.
On the evening of Sofia Claremont's seventeenth birthday, she is sucked into a nightmare from which she cannot wake.
A quiet evening walk along a beach brings her face to face with a dangerous pale creature that craves much more than her blood.
She is kidnapped to an island where the sun is eternally forbidden to shine.
An island uncharted by any map and ruled by the most powerful vampire coven on the planet. She wakes here as a slave, a captive in chains.
Sofia's life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn when she is the one selected out of hundreds of girls to join the harem of Derek Novak, the dark royal Prince.
Despite his addiction to power and obsessive thirst for her blood, Sofia soon realizes that the safest place on the island is within his quarters, and she must do all within her power to win him over if she is to survive even one more night.
Will she succeed? ...or is she destined to the same fate that all other girls have met at the hands of the Novaks?
What I Think
Its been a while since reading something that has anything to do with Vampires in it, and i found it interesting on how different authors describe them. I really liked the way Bella made them the evil as we know that is what they are, but the prince being the most nastiest of them all (well he was supposed to be) had his moments after his awakening.
Sofia well what can i say she was the normal female character, that got taken and woke up in a cell where Lucas was willing to take her as his own but his sister stop him saying noone was to touch her or the others that got taken that night as they were Derek's and he was only aloud to have them if Derek didn't what them.
Derek "The Prince" and the main Vampire in the book has just woken up from a 400 year sleep to find a lot has changed. The first meeting between Derek and Sofia was just after he woke and was at his hungriest and the four girls (Sofia being one of them ) was for him to feed on but that didn't happen.
I really enjoyed reading this book and will continue reading the rest of the series, I also liked how the point of view changed from Derek to Sofia. I recommend this book to anyone that that likes the vampire books (twilight saga, Hush Hush series) i really think you would enjoy it as much as i did. I'm giving this book a 4 reader rating because i loved it.
So the only two reasons I bought this book too read were, 1: It was .99 so I wasn't loosing much had I bought once again another boring annoying book. 2: the reviews. I couldn't help but notice all of the good reviews on it. The quick summary about the book did this novel no justice. My first impression was "Great another cheesy vampire series". My gut told me to give it a chance so I did. I am SOOOOOO beyond glad I did, because I am now obsessed with this series.
The two main characters are actually SMART! Hard to believe right? Sophia is so smart, and rather than being some sick puppy love that is borderline obsessive and an unhealthy relationship, they're actually good for each other. For once a book where the relationship's aren't consistently doubting each other and not communicating their feelings. Cannot wait to finish this series, then again I wish it could last a lifetime! Hate when I finish a book that I know will take a LOT to top.
I was apprehensive when I saw the title of this book; instantly picturing a victimized Annastasia Steel cuffed to a medieval vampire torture device with a fanged Christian Grey hovering over her with who-knows-what in mind. What a wonderful surprise for me then when I started reading and found A Shade of Vampire an utterly enthralling, highly exciting and beautifully sensitive story. Sofia Claremont, the main character, who is captured and taken to the Blood Shade, home of the Novak vampire family and their coven, is not at all a victim. She has this to say about Victimhood: "I know an excuse when I hear one. Don't you dare deceive yourself into believing that you're the victim."
She is also not stupidly rebellious, brave or tough, and knows when to stand down for her own good when the odds are stacked against her. As the story unfolds we get to meet Lucas the not so nice brother, Ben - Sofia's more than best friend, Corrine the witch, and several very interesting, well crafted characters; and, yes, vampires also have some delicious intrigue in their society!
This story gets started and just never gives the reader a chance to get bored. Although fast paced, I still understood the plot and characters with the greatest ease. The author works information about the vampire world and society into conversations thus sparing the reader lengthy descriptions of the who, what, why, where and how.
I had thought that I was utterly immune to the handsome, romantic vampire male but, Derek Novak, the hero of this book, made me reconsider this attitude. The romantic relationship that develops during the story is so tender, caring and bittersweet that it often brought tears to my eyes while smiling at the same time. Talk about fate sealed with a kiss ... Oops, before I say too much, let me just point out that the title of the book was actually very well chosen.
I highly recommend this book to readers of paranormal romance or to anybody who just loves a thrilling, quick read with a liberal measure of depth and wisdom to it. Five stars and a standing ovation for A Shade of Vampire and its wonderful author, Bella Forrest. (Ellen Fritz)

About The Author
Raine Miller has been reading romance novels since she picked up that first Barbara Cartland book at the tender age of thirteen. And it's a safe bet she'll never stop, because now she writes them too! Granted Raine's stories are edgy enough to turn Ms. Cartland in her grave, but to her way of thinking, a hot, sexy hero never goes out of fashion. A former teacher, she's now writing sexy romance stories full time. She has a handsome prince of a husband, and two brilliant sons to pull her back into the real world if the writing takes her too far away. Her sons know she likes to write stories, but gratefully have never asked to read any, thank God! Raine loves to hear from readers and to chat about the characters in her books.
This was of my first ever review and I am glad that I have changed even if it is a little, I think at the time I wasn't sure how much I should say if I could spoil the book or give anything away, I just wasn't sure. I think I have grown over the year that I have been doing it.
What i was thinking in 2013....
I really like this book as there is no bondage sex but a lot of vanilla don't get me wrong a good book with it in it is a good read but this book was great without it. Ethan is very over protective of Brynne, in some parts a little to much but he has his reasons to be as we find out why.
This is the first book out of the Blackstone trilogy
What i think Now.......
Ethan is a very strong character, he has been to war and back for anyone that has had loved ones that have been through that you know what it is like.he tries not to get Brynne into it but when he goes in to one of his dreams sometimes he just has to tell her.
Brynne is a strong character herself you have to be to model naked, she doesn't like being told what to do which you will see as the story goes on. she doesn't know anything about Ethan knowing her father or about her being one of his jobs.
The book starts off with a phone call from one of Ethan's poker buddies asking if her could keep a eye out for his daughter while she studies and works over in London. Ethan wasn't sure if he should take the job as he doesn't mix his business with personal life, one night he was checking out if he should take the job Brynne had a piece of art that she was a model for in a Art show that he went to and fell for her the moment he seen her (Love at first site).
I could be wrong with how it goes but i haven't re-read the book and it was over a year with many book read since hoping I haven't mixed stories up.. sorry if i have.
